Employee of the Quarter – Recognizes Alfred “Al” Williams, Jr.

Awards, Employee

Chris Baeten, Al Williams Jr. and Murray Hess

Each quarter, Knight Federal’s Employee of the Quarter (EOQ) award for the Suffolk, VA location recognizes the outstanding qualities and contributions of employees towards Knight Federal’s goals and mission. Knight Federal recognizes that driven and loyal employees empower an organization.  This quarter the award recipient is Alfred “Al” Williams, Jr.

Al is one of four individuals that will receive the award each year. The honor is awarded the beginning of April, July, October and December during the Christmas party for an outstanding employee from the three preceding months.

EOQ 2018 Winner:
July – September – Alfred “Al” Williams, Jr.
Al was recognized for his exceptional efforts of this past quarter in support of Panamax 18.  This project supported a total of 67 exercise related VTCs and simultaneously coordinated 51 Joint Staff support event VTCs).  Al went over and above his duties in the run up to CECG training and the first half of execution as the sole VTC operator on the bridge.  Pulling 14+ hour days to cover not only the requirements of the overall exercise, but also for those in the building under his direct support. Al never missed a requirement in this challenging, dynamic scheduling process.   He solved multiple technical problems inherent in dealing with coalition countries and their unique systems and in many cases, had to help distant sites with their own issues when connectivity could not be established.  He is a true professional and the exercise could not have been accomplished without his help and performance.  He made KFS’s job easier particularly, since we were short audio-visual personnel, due to a lack of JRU support. His actions continue to showcase the KFS team in the most positive light. He is a credit to the team!

The Employee of the Quarter will receive:

  • A gift card for $50
  • A framed certificate recognizing their accomplishments
  • A Knight Federal imprinted leather notebook
